Welcome to
Children's
University Asia
A world where every child has equal opportunity to unlock their full potential through learning beyond the classroom.
Learning Begins With Us
Children’s University encourages, tracks, and celebrates learning that takes place beyond the classroom. While curriculum time remains the focus of the formal education system, we know that time spent wisely beyond the classroom holds unlimited potential for life-changing experiences, skills development and of course, social mobility
The Children's University Model
Children’s University works with a number of schools, and children are given a Passport to Learning to record their extracurricular activities. Once they accumulate enough hours, they are celebrated at a graduation ceremony, held at a local university or civic building. Members of the Children’s University network must agree to operate according to its terms to ensure consistency.
Passport to Learning
A Passport to Learning looks like a real passport and is used to collect stamps that are issued on the completion of learning activities. Passports are issued to children by local Children’s University coordinators, usually directly through partner schools. Digital Passports to Learning are also currently available as we are on a mission to adopt a sustainable practice.
Learning Destinations
A Learning Destination is anywhere that children can go to take part in learning activities. These can be libraries, museums, sports clubs, or anywhere that offers structured learning activities for children. To become a Children’s University Learning Destination, places must go through a quality assurance process with their local Children’s University centre to ensure their activities fit our objectives.
Certificates and award
Once a child has participated in an activity, a member of staff at the learning destination, or a teacher or coordinator, will stamp the passport to verify the child’s participation. One stamp generally equates to one hour of participation in structured learning. Once a child has amassed a certain number of hours, they will be eligible for receiving certificates. Certificates can only be those distributed by Children’s University.
About Us
Children’s University is a charity that works in partnership with schools to develop a love of learning in children. We do this by encouraging and celebrating participation in extra-curricular activities in and outside of school. The impact of these activities is proven to be positive which is why we’re committed to creating a level playing field of opportunity and opening up access to children of all backgrounds.
